It seems that for the past few weeks I'm developing some type of food allergy (Balazs likes to say that I'm simply getting older..haha). So the other day I stumbled across Angela's
visual documentation of her goal to eat 50% raw foods in each of her meals. The dishes she creates look beautifully balanced and as she says herself it takes a lot of thought and effort to prepare them. I got really inspired by her project and this week I'm trying my best to stick to this idea and maybe find out what foods don't agree with me. Darlings, what do you think? Do you have food intolerances, allergies? Do you have a healthy-balanced diet? Or maybe you are more on-the-go type of eater? Do share...xoxo
P.S: Here you can read more about Angela's
goal

I should try this.
I'm currently trying key things out of the 17 day diet book. It's alot of veggies and pure meats and less carbs after 2pm. I really should write down what I eat. I'm going to check out her blog. I'm always looking for some new ways to balance out my diet.
I can't eat sugary cereal before noon. My body hurts to no end if I do. Weird?? =P
Melanie's Randomness
Melanie, I have the same with milk...Hmm
i should give this a try!!! is balazs hungarian by any chance? i have a hungarian friend named balazs :)
I remember when cleaning day meant a doughnut and milk for breakfast. Now, cleaning day means granola to coat my tummy, THEN doughnut and milk.
Eating healthy is hardddd when you don't get home til 7 or 8 pm. That's the worst.
I'm sorry to hear you're having food issues. That's got to be frustrating! Hopefully you can find some simple changes to make that'll help you feel better! Take good care of you :)
I'm lucky I can say I don't have any allergies or intolerances, so unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions.
I love this idea, and the images are stunning!
oooh food allergies are no fun. and it is possible to 'grow into them.' i hope you figure it out soon! : )
the images are wonderful! good idea! lovely greetings
h and i plan almost all of our meals at the beginning of the week. he has high hereditary cholesterol so we generally dont eat red meat, we stick to chicken or veggies. we are also both somewhat lactose intolerant so we don't load on the cheese and avoid cooking with milk. i would love to incorporate even more veggies and fruit into my diet :) these dishes look so fresh and balanced! v inspiring! xoxo jcd:: enter to win my jewelry giveaway !!
we eat a lot more raw food once spring and summer hit- What beautiful photos of the food.
Jillian, what a brilliant idea to plan all the meals at the beginning of the week. Something I should try for sure.
It's so much more pleasurable to eat food that looks like that!
I have something going on and I cut out dairy and grains. It's amazing how much better I feel. I tried to do sugar too, but I failed. Now when I cheat and have too much dairy or grains I get so bloated. We basically eat Paleo...minus the weekends when I tend to fall off the wagon.
I hope you figure it out. Start with gluten that seems to be everyone's problem these days.
I don't think I could commit to her diet. But I think it is wonderful for those who can. I am a vegetarian though and I am trying to eat healthier. I don't have any food allergies, I am so lucky that way.
Fortunately, no food allergies for me! But I've been logging my food for a fitness program I'm doing for my friend's wedding (one of the other bridemaids is a personal trainer!) and learned that there is not nearly enogh protein in my diet - it's like 70% carbs! But at least most of those carbs are whole grains, veggies and fruit, so that's gotta count for something, right?? ;-)
i was thinking about eating raw the other day. i am glad you shared this.

Hi Diana!! :)
All of that food is presented beautifully, i just don't think i could evere be that strict with my diet. I go through phases of eating super healthy and then phases of eating alot of junk. I like to think they even each other out! :).
btw How are you??
I hope this new diet venture helps you figure out what foods are best for you!
<3
Yes he is, Jacin
Those comments are fantastic and I agree that its much more fun to eat pretty-looking food!
Btw: How many meals a day do you have?
You know, I thought I was developing food allergies too. My doctor told me to try acidophilus and it helped...
oh i love this. i wish i had more time to eat like this!
yum!
I need to change my diet,
love these selections! xxxxx
ohh this is so interesting, and the photography makes the food look so delicious! i also am attempting to eat better, and trying to eat way more fruits and veggies. i've been doing it the last few days, and feel so much better already. defiantly going to try and make it part of everyday. have a lovely tuesday!
Wow, that actually looks delicious. I am pretty good at balancing whole grains/veggies/fruits/protein, but I have a BIG sweet tooth, so that might unbalance all my good efforts ;)
ughh i have SO many food allergies and intolerances. it's actually been quite a struggle recently to find healthy, balanced meals that i can eat. i can't eat any gluten and i have severe allergies to shellfish, cherries, pineapple, olives...
i've been gluten-free for almost a year now and i feel amazing. i've tried cutting out dairy and will i do feel a slight difference, i'm already so limited that i can't afford to cut it out all together.
good luck figuring your allergies out--i know how tough and frustrating it can be!
Oh man, I am not a planner so whenever I eat healthy it is entirely random. I don't think my stomach could handle that many raw foods. I like foods that are not processed, but cooked and softened.
YUM! Delicious photos and meals. I don't have any tolerances, but I like to eat simple and clean.
Images are wonderful!
Nice idea.
Kisses.
Being vegetarian, I already do not eat meat.. but I recently made an effort to make around 80% of all my meals organic raw foods. It makes it fun to go to local farmers markets and pick out what we want for the week, and definitely encourages me to think outside the box for new recipes!
Good luck and enjoy! (and please share any awesome recipes you discover)

Christine, that is so great! We went to the farmers market yesterday and it was so fun to choose all the fresh, yummy stuff.
maybe milk is your problem - recently it has been making me super bloated. her goal is amazing and courageous, i don't think i have that kind of willpower. plus i feel like my body just needs more bread! haha. but i am willing to try! good luck with your food crisis dear :/
It must be really hard to balance the diet for sure, Melisande but Im so happy that you are feeling much better. Thanks, sweetie!
good luck with this. I dont have any food allergies but a friend of mine does so I know how hard it can be to pin point what the problem is
I need to change my diet so badly. I just don't think enough about what I should be eating.
you can definitely develop food allergies as you get older. My boss is now allergic to gluten and has celiac diseases. It's such a horrible thing because it makes you so sensitive..there's no way to cheat!

P.S. Today is the last day to enter my Big Fat Crafty Giveaway!
Love these pictures. I'm gonna have to check out the blog. I am allergic to all nuts. It makes dieting really hard because generally nuts are a big part of a "healthy eating" diet. I have also had to learn "does this have nuts" in a few languages for when I travel.

I've got food intolerances coming out the wazoo. I was very sick for two years in my early 20s before I was properly diagnosed. Turns out I am completely yeast intolerant and oregano intolerant! As well, I'm sensitive to dairy and tomatoes (even though I still eat both). I haven't had beer in 8 years, since I was diagnosed.
i'd go for raw foods any day, too.
that is a very light dinner up there, though! i've been trying to eating breakfast because i never do and i know, its bad to skip breakfast. then i'll just have lunch and dinner. :-)
i eat pretty healthy and ive switched to a bunch of whole grains. However I would definitely be starving all day long if I only ate as much as she ate!
These dishes look lovely...we're all going to have food allergies if the GMO's take over which they're trying to do, we need to fight them!!!
Oh my, Eliza! How did they diagnose you? Did you go for an allergy test?
Wow, how diligent of her! I could never do that. I do have allergies..mostly to dairy products and some soy and also peas/cauliflower. :)
I'm not quite lactose intolerant but after giving up milk for awhile when I was younger, it never quite sits the same anymore. I think I'm developing some other food allergies too and definitely need to try something to figure out what they are!
Yummy and healthy post, darling!
Sorry about your food allergy!
xoxox,
CC
I luckily have no food intolerancies, but I feel like I have to lose some winter pounds... I like this idea, its so inspiring. Would give it a try :)
Hope youre having a lovely day babe!
xx
M.
I've been on a mission to do a diet overhaul myself. I've definitely cut down on the sweets...I was going a bit overboard with them!
I am gluten intolerant and I don't handle milk very well (but I am ok with cheese and yogurt...).
I eat giant huge salads every day that are all raw and delicious.
hope you're feeling better soon.
i like the idea of her food diary. I don't eat anything with too much sugar, meat or lactose. this diary looks sweet. thanks for the share.
i need to eat better, especially now that winter is coming and it will be easy to get fat and cover it up with layers :)
i hope the food allergy turns out to be nothing, that would really suck!
So inspiring and such beautiful food!
This is amazing! I love new healthy meal ideas! I try to always eat healthy, and avoid bread. But you know, sometimes you just gotta splurge :)
I'm so sorry to hear that sweetie. It's difficult but doable. You're doing the right thing by eliminating each food and see any reaction you might get. I have developed so many allergies over the years that there's too many to list - just ridiculous. Good luck to you! I hope you find out what you're allergic to. Sometimes it can be seasonal. I love berries, but I have a seasonal allergic reaction, so it only happens at certain times of the year.
xoxo
Oh no! I hope you are ok! For some reason lately I want to eat healthy...I guess I'm starting to crave that feel good feeling!
Those food pictures are amazing. I try to eat a healthy balanced diet with tons of fresh produce and almost no processed foods (with teh exception of a rice cake or two a day). When I eat good and light, I feel so good about myself.
diana, I am allergic to onions of all things. It makes cooking a challenge. One sign of a food allergy can also be extreme irritability. Seriously--almost like you get cranky after you eat that certain food. This happened to me for years before I started actually have trouble swallowing and realized I have an allergy!
I think eating raw is AWESOME. Even if you can just much on veggies raw throughout the day--I think this helps. Great post. I will check out her link. xo
I'm curious what you think your allergy is? I think the root of a lot of these massive wheat and dairy allergies have a lot to do with the way they're both being processed.. I like the idea of 50% raw foods - sounds very healthy, reasonable and doable ;)
I understand that a raw diet feels healthy, but I'm not buying it. Yes, the food is delicious and fresh. But, as someone with lactose intolerance and IBS, my gastroenterologist told me that a raw food diet would quite possibly be the worst thing for me. Eating a balanced diet is very important to me. Eating raw foods? Not so much.
